The Brain Injury Programs at LifeBridge Health are the first such programs in Maryland to receive a coveted ACBIS (Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists) Alliance designation from the Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA).
This designation was given in recognition of LifeBridge Health’s dedication to providing high-quality brain injury services to patients at Sinai Hospital and Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital as well as its commitment to staff training and certification. Sinai and Levindale are both LifeBridge Health centers.
The Brain Injury Programs at LifeBridge Health offer comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for all levels of traumatic brain injuries, from severe to mild. The services include
community re-entry,
return to work,
mild brain injury,
comprehensive sports concussion and
coma emergence programs.
According to
Sinai Rehabilitation Center Director Ellen Zerbst, who oversees the community re-entry, return to work and mild brain injury programs, “We are very pleased to receive this honor. This award underscores our efforts over the last five years to be the best trained brain injury organization in the region. We would like to acknowledge all LifeBridge Health staff and administration members who have helped lead the way in this great achievement.”
Founded in 1996 by the BIAA, the ACBIS’ mission is to improve the quality of care given to individuals with brain injuries through the education and training of those who work in brain injury services.
