Northwest Hospital Nurse Honored for Outstanding Achievement

Helen Ejomah, RN, BSN, of Northwest Hospital Center in Randallstown, has been recognized by Nursing Spectrum magazine as a finalist as an Outstanding Staff Nurse of the Year.
Nurses were judged by the Nursing Spectrum Washington, DC/Baltimore board of directors on their practice, courage and compassion and exhibition of these qualities in an exemplary manner.
Ejohmah works as a staff nurse on the 24-bed subacute/hospice unit at Northwest Hospital Center, where she serves as a role model for nurses. Ejomah shares her knowledge and skills in the art of nursing with both new practitioners and experienced nurses at the Randallstown hospital.
"Customer service is at the top of her list of things to accomplish during her shift,” says Dean Smith, RN, BSN, Director of Nursing for the subacute/hospital unit. "Everyone on the unit knows that when Helen is there, everything will be all right, and if it isn't, she will make it right.”
The nomination came as a surprise to Ejohmah, who selected nursing as a profession because of her older sister. "My sister was a nurse, and as a child I enjoyed visiting with her in the hospital where she worked,” says Ejomah. "She was a major influence in my life.”
Northwest Hospital Center is a member of LifeBridge Health, a regional health organization that includes Sinai Hospital, Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital, Jewish Convalescent & Nursing Home, and related subsidiaries and affiliates.
