Nurses at Northwest Hospital Certified as MammaCare Specialist
|
|
Northwest Hospital is pleased to announce that two
nurses in the Herman & Walter Samuelson Breast Care Center, Kim Gallop,
B.S.N., R.N., and Jessica Ward, R.N., have successfully completed the
requirements to become a Certified MammaCare Specialist. MammaCare is the
recognized standard in teaching and performing clinical breast examination in
breast cancer screening clinics. Clinicians properly trained in MammaCare have
found breast cancers as small as 3 mm in diameter.
Gallop and Ward attended the extensive training held in
Gainesville, Florida. Northwest Hospital's participation in the training was
funded by a grant from the Baltimore County Office of Employment and
Training.
