Hugo Benalcazar, M.D., Named Co-Director of the Spine Center at Sinai Hospital for the LifeBridge Health Brain & Spine Institute

LifeBridge Health, a Baltimore-based
health care organization, is pleased to announce Hugo Benalcazar, M.D., has been
named co-director of the Spine
Center at Sinai Hospital
, a center of the LifeBridge Health Brain &
Spine Institute.
Benalcazar received his medical degree from the Medical
College of Wisconsin. He completed his fellowship at the University of
California – Los Angeles Medical Center and his residency and internship at
Northwestern University Medical Center.
The LifeBridge Health Brain & Spine Institute is a
one-of-its-kind consortium of specialists from Sinai
Hospital and Northwest Hospital Center in neurology, neurosurgery,
orthopedics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and other subspecialties. The
Institute offers a full range of services for brain, spine and peripheral
nervous system diseases including sophisticated diagnostic techniques,
state-of-the-art surgical modalities and comprehensive rehabilitation programs.
In 2007, Sinai Hospital will open a new outpatient office building and a new
36-bed, all-private-room neurological pavilion, which will house a Spine Center,
an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, and a Stroke Center with a 10-bed inpatient Stroke
Unit.
LifeBridge Health is a regional health organization that
includes Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Northwest Hospital Center, Levindale Hebrew
Geriatric Center and Hospital, Jewish
Convalescent & Nursing Home, and related subsidiaries and
affiliates.
