2009


Baltimore Business Journal Green Policy Award

LifeBridge Health won the first Green Policy category award at the Baltimore Business Journal’s inaugural Green Business awards luncheon. The Green Awards recognize the greenest Baltimore businesses in seven different categories.

EPA Trailblazer Award

For its corporate waste management policies, food reduction and composting, and environmentally-friendly purchasing policies, LifeBridge Health was one of six hospitals to receive a Trailblazer Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.


2010


Communitas Award for Green Initiatives

LifeBridge Health won the 2010 Communitas Award for Green Initiatives, under the category of Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility. Communitas Award winners are recognized for their commitment to sustainable, ethical or philanthropy business practices, as well as volunteerism.

Partner for Change with Distinction Award

Sinai Hospital, Northwest Hospital, and Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital were award winners at the 2010 Environmental Excellence Awards ceremony at the CleanMed conference. Sinai and Northwest won the Partner for Change with Distinction Award and the Making Medicine Mercury-Free Award. Levindale won the Partner for Change Award and the Making Medicine Mercury-Free award.


2011


Partner for Change Award


LifeBridge Health was honored with three Partner for Change Awards for its commitment to protecting the environment and human health. Practice Greenhealth, a national membership organization for health care facilities committed to environmentally responsible operations, presented the awards to LifeBridge Health centers Sinai Hospital, Northwest Hospital, and Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital.

GreenCare Award

LifeBridge Health took home four GreenCare Awards in the following categories: Overall Honorable Mention; Honorable Mention for Housekeeping and Maintenance; Winner for Organizational Commitment and Honorable Mention for Purchasing. The GreenCare Awards honor the nation’s leading hospitals, health care systems, and physician practices committed to environmental sustainability.

Partner for Change Award

LifeBridge Health was honored with three Partner for Change Awards for its commitment to protecting the environment and human health. LifeBridge Health centers Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital received a Partner for Change, with Distinction Award, and Sinai Hospital and Northwest Hospital received Partner for Change Awards.

 Partner for Change Award


LifeBridge Health centers Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital, Sinai Hospital and Northwest Hospital received awards for 2013. Levindale received a Partner for Change, with Distinction Award; and Sinai and Northwest hospitals received Partner for Change Awards for their programs to eliminate mercury, reduce waste and increase recycling. Levindale earned a “with Distinction” designation because it met all of the qualifications for the Partner for Change Award while also demonstrating significant progress in other target areas.

Practice Greenhealth/Partner for Change Award


LifeBridge Health was presented with several awards by Practice Greenhealth, the nation’s leading health care membership community that empowers its members to increase their efficiencies and environmental stewardship while improving patient safety and care. Practice Greenhealth Environmental Excellence Awards recognize health care facilities, business and organizational members for their demonstrated commitment to environmental practices and sustainability. The Awards are presented annually and held in conjunction with CleanMed, the global conference for environmental leaders in health care.

Sinai Hospital earned a Greenhealth Emerald Award, Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital earned an Emerald Award, and Northwest Hospital earned a Partner for Change Award.
