Levindale is nearing the completion of the first phase of a very exciting expansion on our campus. The Levindale Master Plan is designed to give our center a brand new look and feeling, as we continue to help our residents and patients experience the best quality of life.
We are creating a state-of-the-art, cozy, elegant place for our residents and patients to call home on our existing campus, which has been renamed the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Campus.
This will sync it up with our Neighborhood Model philosophy. We are already implementing the emotional segment of resident-directed care, where we put the needs and desires of our residents first. Now, we want Levindale's physical structures to further enhance our efforts.
Among the things our expansion will provide are private rooms, private bathrooms, home-style meal service and town centers.
We want to carry out these modifications in four phases. The first two phases involve constructing two new buildings that create true neighborhoods of six households with14 rooms each. Every household will have a country kitchen.
The kitchens are important, because as you know, when people get together, that's the room where everyone seems to end up. We want our kitchens to be big enough for meetings. Since the food will also be cooked in them, we hope the aromas remind our residents of their own family get-togethers.
Once the new buildings are completed, the third and fourth phases of Levindale's Master Plan will kick off. Our current residents will move into their new digs, and the renovation of the nursing home's existing wings and rehabilitation areas will begin. These stages will also include landscaping and a parking tower.
We hope to have the first new building finished by the end of 2011.
