Lots of exciting news happening at our Auxiliary! I’ll start with the Jewish New Year: 250 Baltimore campers created Rosh Hashanah cards that were delivered to our residents at Levindale. Shortly after, Levindale’ s Sukkah was beautifully decorated by our Junior Auxiliary on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. In between the holiday fun, we had a snowball party with our residents and a happy hour with the very happy, Neil Meltzer, President and CEO of Lifebridge! The Levindale-ettes went into full party mode!
In December, we packaged and delivered Chanukah and Holiday gifts at Levindale. This year, the residents received walker/wheelchair bags to hold their personal belongs on outings and around the facility. Thank you to all of our holiday sponsors - without your generosity we would not be able to create the smiles. Our Auxiliary also made and distributed holiday candy bags to all of staff members at Levindale.
2014 is already off to a great start. In late January we had a Vendor Boutique Event. We had local vendors selling jewelry, make up, kitchenwares and more. We all had a good time knowing that our spending went toward enhancing the lives of the residents.
There is one more piece of news that I would like to share with you. In February, I announced to the board that our family will be moving to Silver Spring. This was a hard decision for us to make, but we know that it’s the right one. To that end, I will be transitioning from my position in May. However, it is with sheer excitement that I announce our president-elect: Esther Jacobson. Esther is a dynamic and energetic woman who brings personal Levindale experience to the board. She has already proven to be a tremendous asset to our team as VP of membership, and I look forward to watching her carry our Auxiliary to new heights.
It is so exciting to be able to report on all of these worthwhile happenings; there is nothing we like to do more than spread our enthusiasm. If you know someone who you think may be interested in joining our board, please let me know so that I can welcome them to the Levindale family.
Thank you for all that you do to support our Auxiliary and bring light into the life of the residents.
