Patient Stories: How We've Helped Other Families

These are just a few examples of how Carroll Hospice has helped families like yours celebrate life and create meaningful memories together.

  • When Caroline thought she would have to miss her daughter Mariah’s high school graduation, we knew it was a life-moment we were called to be part of. With Mariah’s school principal and friends and family present, Mariah graduated with her mom by her side in the room where they would also say their final goodbye. Caroline passed away days later, taking that proud moment with her.

  • Margaret didn’t want to miss her granddaughter’s talent show, so a Carroll Hospice nurse attended the talent show for her, recording a video of the entire performance so that Margaret could watch her granddaughter shine from the comfort of her own bed.

  • When we discovered that Roel’s 50th wedding anniversary was fast approaching, we knew what we had to do. We threw a 50th anniversary party for Roel and her husband Howard at our inpatient facility, Dove House, complete with festive decorations, catering and all of their friends and family.

  • Aside from special occasions, Carroll Hospice also takes the time to get to know a patient’s favorite things. When we learned that Mary loved the beach, we transformed her room to bring the beach to her. We filled her room with seashells, sand dollars and the sound of waves crashing on the shore.
