Our Palliative Care Program includes a dedicated palliative care consult team consisting of a physician, clinical nurse specialist, social worker, clinical pharmacist, and pastoral care provider. The team works together to address the patient's needs from a supportive care perspective, including symptom and pain management, anxiety, psychosocial distress, and spiritual needs.
Dr. Kenneth Miller of the Division of Hematology/Medical Oncology and Dr. H. Michael Yu of the Weinman Family Department of Radiation Oncology are both Board Certified in Palliative Care. Drs. Miller and Yu collaborate with the Lapidus Cancer Institute's Palliative and Supportive Care initiative for cancer patients admitted to Blaustein 6, our in-patient cancer care unit.
