Our In-Patient Palliative Care Program includes a dedicated palliative care consult team consisting of a physician, clinical nurse specialist, social worker, clinical pharmacist and pastoral care provider. The team works together to address the patient's needs from a supportive care perspective, including symptom and pain management, anxiety, psychosocial distress and spiritual needs.
Dr. Kenneth Miller, of the Division of Hematology/Medical Oncology, is board-certified in palliative care. Dr. Miller collaborates with the Alvin & Lois Lapidus Cancer Institute's Palliative and Supportive Care initiative to assist cancer patients admitted to Blaustein 6, our in-patient cancer care unit.
