The inpatient program serves individuals 18 years and older who have sustained a brain injury and are in need of specialized rehabilitation. The brain injury unit is secured for patients with confusion and behavioral issues to allow for increased independence while ensuring patient safety.  Intensive therapy is provided on a 1:1 basis with occasional Specialty Groups  to meet patient needs.  Patients participate in treatment seven days a week.  In addition we provide extensive family education to assist in making appropriate decisions about patient care and discharge options.

Our goals are to assist people at the early stages of recovery including:

  • Increasing independence for activities of daily living
  • Improving cognitive and memory deficits for patient safety
  • Evaluating swallowing function for return to regular diet
  • Improving physical abilities for sitting, standing, transfers and walking
  • Providing toileting schedules to manage incontinence
  • Managing difficult behaviors
  • Educating families to make medical and discharge decisions
