Steven Gambert, M.D., chairman of Medicine and
physician-in-chief at Sinai
Hospital of Baltimore has been elected to Mastership by the American
College of Physicians. The title of Mastership will be bestowed upon Gambert at
the American College of Physicians annual meeting on April 19 in San Diego,
California.
Dr. Gambert�s commitment to excellence in clinical care
and faculty development makes him an ideal candidate for the Mastership award,�
said Neil Meltzer, president of Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. He is a
distinguished educator, administrator, investigator and clinician, and has been
a national leader in geriatric medicine for almost three decades.�
Election to Mastership recognizes physicians with
outstanding career accomplishments. Masters must have made a notable
contribution to medicine. This includes, but is not limited to, teaching,
outstanding work in clinical medicine (research or practice), contributions to
preventive medicine, improvements in the delivery of health care, and/or
contributions to medical literature.
In addition to his position at Sinai Hospital, Gambert
serves as professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of
Medicine, program director of the Johns Hopkins/Sinai Hospital Residency Program
in Internal Medicine and coordinator of the Johns Hopkins Clinical Clerkship in
Internal Medicine at Sinai Hospital. He also serves as a fellow in the American
Geriatrics Society and the Geronotological Society of America.
The American College of Physicians (ACP) is the nation's
