GYN Oncology Elective
/ Maternal Fetal Medicine Elective
Thank you for your interest in electives at Sinai
Hospital. There are many electives to choose from, attached is our Elective
Booklet for your review. In order to apply for an elective at Sinai Hospital,
you must be currently enrolled in either an LCME or AOA accredited medical
school.
After you have made your elective selection, complete the
top portion of the application, indicating specific dates. Then submit it to the
Dean of your Medical School or the Student Affairs Office. This application is
for sub-internships and electives only, not Core Curriculum Requirements (if
your Dean answers "yes" to question number 3 on the application, your
application will be denied). When we receive the completed application, with
verification of malpractice, student evaluations, and any other required
documentation, the credentialing process will begin.
Due to Risk Management/Liability Insurance
considerations, if you are doing any elective rotation that has a component at
Sinai Hospital you must be registered and credentialed through the Office of
Medical Education. The process includes verification of health insurance
coverage, professional liability coverage, and that you are in good standing in
the medical school. Please notify our office at least 1 month prior to the your
start date. Credentialing also allows you to obtain badges, allowing you access
to the Sinai campus.
Sinai Hospital does not have housing on campus and
arrangements must be made on an individual basis by the student. For more
information about housing or if you have questions, please contact me.
