Amputation is a life altering decision that parent's of thousands of
children who are either born with or develop a limb length discrepancy are
faced with every year. Recently it was the only medical option they
are given to have a normal life. Doctors at Sinai Hospital in
Baltimore, Maryland are giving those parents hope with a new
option.
Anne Beaumont, currently 13 years old, was born with congenital femoral
deficiency or C-F-D, a condition that results in severe limb length
discrepancies.
In this LifePOD, you learn how the limb lengthening team led by Dr. Dror
Paley, the medical director of the International Center for Limb Lengthening
at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore was able to offer Anne and her family an
