Description

Northwest Hospital recently received a $25,000 grant from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation to support the outpatient cancer treatments in the new Cancer and Infusion Therapy Center, which opened in March. With the generous gift, Northwest will be able to provide more individuals in Baltimore County and Baltimore City with access to cancer infusion services.

The Cancer and Infusion Therapy Center at Northwest Hospital is part of LifeBridge Healths Alvin & Lois Lapidus Cancer Institute, one of only 15 network cancer programs in the United States.  LifeBridge Healths multidisciplinary approach to treating cancer enhances communication between physicians and between patient and physician, allowing patients to receive the best care possible.  This integrated program enables Northwest Hospital to meet the communitys increased need for cancer drug therapies.

Bank of America has been a longtime supporter of Northwest Hospital Center as it has continued to grow over the years, said Erik Wexler, president and COO of Northwest Hospital Center.  It is exciting to see local businesses in the community supporting the work and services the Hospital provides.

Northwest Hospital Center is embarking on a major renovation and expansion project with three separate $1 million gifts toward its $5 million community fundraising campaign, called the Renaissance Campaign. LifeBridge Health, Northwests parent company, will contribute $50 million to the overall expansion and renovation project.

Bank of America is dedicated to helping people and organizations in the communities we serve realize their dreams.  It is a pleasure to once again support Northwest Hospital, which provides outstanding care to so many residents in our community, said Don Kohlhafer, senior vice president, Bank of America.

Northwest Hospital Center is a member of LifeBridge Health, a regional health organization, which includes Sinai HospitalLevindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and HospitalJewish Convalescent & Nursing Home, and related subsidiaries and affiliates.
