specialties is highly qualified and dedicated to surgical education. The
majority of the core faculty holds appointments at the Johns Hopkins University
School of Medicine or the University of Maryland Medical School and include 5
full professors, 6 associate professors and several assistant professors and
clinical instructors.
The dedication to education at Sinai is anchored in its Mission Statement and
reflected in 5 independent residency programs (Medicine, Pediatrics, Gynecology
& Obstetrics, Surgery, Rehabilitation & Physical Medicine), two
independent fellowships (Minimally Invasive & Bariatric Surgery, Pain
Management) and several affiliated programs with rotating residents or fellows
(Orthopedics, Endocrinology, Neurology).
The commitment to education at Sinai extends beyond this array of activities
to rotating medical students from The Johns Hopkins School of medicine, as well
as nursing and mid-level provider education.
For the Sinai Surgery residency, the Department of Surgery has carefully
chosen strategic teaching institutions of outstanding reputation and high
clinical volume to supplement the training received at Sinai Hospital (see
Programs and Hospitals). For more information on specific faculty at these
institutions, please visit their respective websites.
