Joseph Dean Nuckols, M.D., has been named pathologist-in-chief for Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.
Nuckols is a member of the Hicken Group, which has provided pathology services to Sinai Hospital since 2000. He joined Sinai Hospital at that time, and has served as the medical director of the Hematology/Coagulation, Flow Cytometry, and Immunohistochemistry laboratories since 2000.
As chief of Pathology, Nuckols is responsible for working together with the hospital administration to meet the needs and expectations of the medical staff and patients at Sinai Hospital.
My goals as the new chief are to build on the excellent foundations begun by my predecessors and to continue to provide excellent service to our clinicians and our patients,� said Nuckols.
Nuckols received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Washington and Lee Univeristy, Lexington, Va. He completed his medical degree at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Va. His residency in Pathology was completed at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC. Nuckols completed fellowship training in hematopathology at Vanderbuilt University Medical Center, Nashville, TN. He also has a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Virginia.
