The Sleep Center at Sinai
Hospital of Baltimore has gained accreditation from the American
Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). The AASM accreditation, considered by
professionals as the gold standard for sleep centers, comes after a lengthy
review process, which looked at numerous areas including safety, clean and
comfortable patient environment, training of physicians and staff, and the
availability of consultant services.
The AASM accreditation reflects the Sleep Center�s high standards and
dedication to patient care, advancement for sleep research, and both public and
professional education,� said Brian Bohner, M.D., medical director of the Sinai Sleep
Center.
The Sinai Sleep Center, under the direction of Bohner
and Stephen Schonfeld, M.D. , co-director of the program,
provides a place where sleep patterns can be monitored and evaluated by sleep
medicine specialists. With more than 85 recognized sleep disorders that can rob
a person of deep, restorative sleep, the Sleep Center at Sinai is equipped with
luxurious, private suites designed to provide a comfortable and tranquil
environment for sleep study patients.
The endorsement by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine is evidence of the
