With more than 160 full-time faculty members and 800 ER-7 voluntary attending physicians, Sinai has some of the most highly respected teachers in the region. Sinai is a world-renowned medical center and includes:

  • Development of the Automatic Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (AICD) in the 1970s
  • Pioneering of Minimally Invasive Direct Coronary Artery Bypass (MIDCAB) surgery in the 1990s
  • Nationally acclaimed Endocrine/Metabolic, Neurology and Geriatric Medicine programs
  • Active basic science laboratories on-site
  • Online capabilities offering instant access to databases and medical literature
  • Easy access to computers for education and patient care
  • Online reviewing of lab and radiology results
  • Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics which houses the International Center for Limb Lengthening program and the Center for Joint Preservation and Replacement
  • Gait lab.

Sinai is also the home of ER-7, a 34,500-square foot, 53-bed emergency pavilion that houses seven specialized care centers: Fast Track, Urgent, Emergent, Trauma, Pediatrics, Chest Pain and Observation. The department is staffed by 40 full- and part-time board certified/eligible physicians. Considered one of the most modern emergency facilities in the country, all seven care centers are designed to meet the specific needs of each patient. ER-7 has developed a unique, nationally acclaimed model for the delivery of superb clinical care in an environment that recognizes the emotional issues that accompany emergency care. In addition to the latest in technological advances, ER-7 features private waiting rooms, a communications system for families and providers, and concierge service. Sinai expects to see over 76,000 patients come through ER-7 in 2006.

For our residents, Sinai offers a discount membership to LifeBridge Health and Fitness, a 66,000-square-foot health and wellness facility, free parking, on-site day-care, House Staff Association, and a private physician's lounge and dining room. Residents also enjoy access to Sinai's full-service Eisenberg Medical Staff Library.
