The Sinai Hospital residency program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation began more than two decades ago. The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation program is fully accredited by the Residency Review Committee for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Graduates of this program will be eligible for the certification examinations of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

The applicants who are accepted for the three-year Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation training program must successfully complete a primary care clinical year before beginning their Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation training at the PGY-2 level.

In 2003, the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency program received full four-year accreditation, with no citations, from the Residency Review Committee for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Sinai Hospital is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations; and as the institutional sponsor of graduate education, Sinai has received a full five-year accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.
