- High school diploma or equivalent is required
Under moderate supervision, performs patient registration functions; obtains and verifies insurance information, collects co-pays and fees. Performs independently a variety of clerical tasks such as typing correspondence, filing, operating office equipment, ordering supplies, sorting and delivering mail, etc. Serves as liaison between customers, families and the institution in order to obtain solutions to non-medical problems and concerns.
Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years of registration and/or customer service experience in a health care setting, or equivalent. Must demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology obtained through formal training or previous experience, medical billing practices, third party insurance and managed care procedural requirements. Must be diligent, efficient, responsive and self-motivated. Must have the ability to prepare records in accordance with detailed instructions. Must have the ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with patients and co-workers. Must type 30 wpm. Includes every other weekend.
