- High school diploma or equivalent is required
Under moderate supervision, processes patient registrations accurately for hospitalization or outpatient procedures; acts as a resource to patients and their family members or significant others; explains Hospital regulations, insurance requirements, and the course of events to follow; obtains patient financial information; schedules appointments, answers telephone, and greets guests. Performs various other duties dependent on assignment such as Bed Control, scheduling appointments in HUB, etc.
Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Three (3) years of clerical experience in Patient Financial Service or Customer Service in health care setting or two (2) years experience in a patient financial health care customer service setting. Must demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology obtained through formal training or previous experience, excellent telephone skills, a high level of customer relations, interpersonal and organizational skills. Must type 45 w.p.m. and/or have computer experience. Must have knowledge of third party payer requirements, including Uniform Billing (UB92) requirements and regulatory guidelines.
