With ability to work independently, under limited supervision, performs moderate and high complexity clinical laboratory tests in one or more of the following disciplines; blood bank, serology and blood gas; utilizes manual and automated procedures. Uses and maintains equipment, reagents and supplies; demonstrates computer skills; deals with pre-analytical problems; and performs required calibration and quality control. Communicates intra and inter-departmentally, demonstrating knowledge of testing principles and procedures; may act as a resource person.
Requirements: Medical Technologist (MT), ASCP registered, eligible, or equivalent. Experience and education requirements are based on the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), Board of Registry, Certification Examination Eligibility Requirements. Must be certified MLT/MT (ASCP/NCA only)
