Under the supervision of the Transportation Supervisor and guidance of the Transportation Manager, this position dispatches and coordinates Transportation Department drivers and their day-to-day assignments. This position requires CDL licensure. The dispatcher assists in devising routes and schedules on a daily basis to maximize number of passengers, minimize ride time, waiting time, and ensure on-time goals are met. These appointments, trips and routes may change each day. The dispatcher answers office telephones and dispenses information to callers concerning transportation for Daycare Centers, Northwest Senior Shuttle, Sinai Cancer Institute Van, and other functions of the department. The Dispatcher maintains the computer database and files to include the Daily Daycare Run/Route sheets. This is a nonexempt, non-union position.
