Sinai Hospital to Build Guest House for Patients
Sinai Hospital of Baltimore announces plans to build a special guesthouse for patients and their families receiving outpatient care. The Hackerman-Patz House at Sinai Hospital will serve as a home away from home and will be located on the Sinai-Levindale campus. Groundbreaking for this project is slated for April.
The Hackerman-Patz House at Sinai will accommodate the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics patients, pediatric cancer patients and other out-of-town patients and their families who need temporary housing during treatment. It can accommodate up to 10 families at a time, and a nominal fee will be charged.
Our goal is to provide affordable housing to those who need this kind of temporary service, regardless of ones financial situation, said Warren Green, president and CEO, LifeBridge Health, Sinai Hospitals parent company. The supportive environment that the House will create can help with the emotional toll of being away from home.
A full-time manager and maintenance staff will work to maintain the Hackerman-Patz House at Sinai. The House will include a number of common areas including a kitchen, laundry room, living room and multi purpose room. All of the guest rooms will have a private bath and telephone.
The House was made possible through the generosity of Willard and Lillian Patz Hackerman and their families. Guest fees, fundraising efforts and special friends will support the Hackerman-Patz House at Sinai.
Families will be able to access the housing service by calling Levindale Management at 410-602-0885.
