For Immediate Release
Sinai Hospital of Baltimore has added a new Internet-based communications system that allows patients to stay in touch with friends and family while they are in the hospital, and even after they go home. CarePages, a free service to patients, help them set up personalized Web sites that update relatives and friends.
With so many people having computer access today, this is a wonderful way for people to go online and post messages of support for a loved one or get information about his or her recovery, said Neil Meltzer, president and COO, Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. This helps patients get the information that they want out to their family and friends, without having to field a lot of phone calls themselves.
The service provided by CarePages is protected by a password that is established when the Web page account is set up. In addition to posting updates, message boards and pictures can be put on the site. CarePages can remain active as long as the patient and family need them.
