Sandra Porterfield, CAVS, director of Volunteer Services at Northwest Hospital Center, has earned national certification from the American Society of Directors of Volunteer Services (ASDVS).

Porterfield, who joined Northwest in 1998, passed the certification examination, which tests for knowledge, skill and competency in the field of volunteer administration.

A resident of Arnold, Md., Porterfield is responsible for coordination of the hospital�s Volunteer Department including recruiting, training and placement, as well as recognition programs, continuing education programs and educational materials. In addition, Porterfield supervises the hospital�s mail room services and front desk operations.

Northwest Hospital Center is a member of LifeBridge Health, a regional health organization, which includes Sinai Hospital, Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital, Jewish Convalescent & Nursing Home, and related subsidiaries and affiliates.
