Richard Damewood, M.D., has been named chief of the Division of General Surgery.

Dr. Damewood completed surgical residencies at Sinai Hospital and Johns Hopkins Hospital. He earned his undergraduate degree from the Johns Hopkins University and his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He has been in private practice locally since 1983. He is an instructor in surgery at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

A resident of Lutherville, Dr. Damewood has authored a variety of publications and delivered presentations on such topics as wound healing and benign breast disease.
