TITLE OF COURSE:	Ophthalmology Elective
COURSE DIRECTOR:	Joseph B. Harlan, M.D.
DESCRIPTION AND GOALS OF COURSE:	The student participates in all activities of the Department of Ophthalmology during this elective.  The student will work with both full-time attendings as well as with residents.  The student will also observe various surgical procedures performed by members of the department.  The student will participate in all conferences and at the conclusion of the elective will be expected to give a lecture on a topic to be determined after the start of the elective.
