Northwest Hospital Center in Randallstown recently honored its volunteers as part of festivities associated with National Volunteer Week.
Nearly 120 volunteers were recognized for almost 59,000 total hours of service to the patients and staff at Northwest Hospital. Volunteers work in 56 clinical areas, non-clinical areas and clerical positions within the hospital. In addition, 28 high school student volunteers were recognized for completing community service hours and gaining valuable career experience in many areas of hospital operations.
Six volunteers achieved Life Member Status, by completing more than 10 years and 1,000 hours of service when they retired. They include: Sharon Cimbalista, 13,250 hours; Aaron Click, 3,500 hours; Paul Greenberg, 5,800 hours; Juanita Morrow, 1,200 hours; and Bertha Thomson, 1,800 hours.
Six volunteers were honored for serving in excess of 10,000 hours. They include: Mark Lifcovich, 10,500 hours; Joseph Clise and Mary Zalis, 11,000 hours; Minnie Geffert, 11,000 hours; Helen Brill, 16,000 hours; and Audrey Lifcovich, 18,000 hours.
