Levindale's 196-bed nursing home offers multi-level care
for residents who can no longer live independently because of physical or mental
debilitation, emotional trauma, or chronic illness. Levindale provides meals,
laundry, housekeeping, medical and religious services, recreational activities,
and counseling programs. Two units are specifically designed for residents with
the following needs:
Dementia Low-Stimulus Unit: This 26-bed nursing unit provides care to
residents with dementia to help maximize their potential. By compensating for
cognitive loss, preventing fatigue, and reducing environmental stress, we
improve the quality of life while the resident is still able to respond to
others and to participate in groups. It is a safe, uncomplicated environment
where dementia is understood and residents with cognitive impairment can
function at their best.
Skilled Nursing Home Unit: 20 beds are dedicated to providing subacute
care for residents in Levindale's nursing home. Subacute, by definition, is a
comprehensive, cost effective, and outcome-oriented approach to care for
patients requiring short-term, complex medical and/or rehabilitation
interventions provided by a physician-directed interdisciplinary, professional
team.
