Under limited supervision, plans, coordinates, and directs the business activities of the unit/department. Serves as liaison to all Hospital departments and staff to maintain a safe and efficient environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Performs administrative business duties such as; staff scheduling, developing business plans, monitoring cost per case, ordering special supplies, implementing departmental policies and procedures and overseeing buying. Facilitates and ensures communication among team members and other Hospital teams. Collaborates with director to assist in meeting operational needs and facilitates the implementation of planned changes on the unit/department. Assists the director in preparing annual budget, statistical analysis and developing departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements: Bachelor�s Degree in Nursing, Business or Health Care or related field, or documented pursuance of same. Five years progressive nursing experience in specified field with demonstrated supervisory responsibility. Oncology and chemotherapy experience preferred. Licensed as RN in Maryland. Knowledge of problem solving tools and processes, staffing processes, quality improvement concepts and methods; possess advanced clinical practice skills; organization and prioritization abilities; negotiation and consensus building skills, communication skills and persuasive ability. Must have current CPR Healthcare Provider or CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification. Must successfully complete Hospital orientation/training program. Effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, project management and computer spreadsheet skills.
