- High school diploma or equivalent is required
Under moderate supervision, performs a variety of tasks that may differ slightly due to the assigned area. This position may be permanent or may be rotated according to the needs of the department. The main responsibility is to prepare patient specimens (blood, surgical and autopsy specimens, spinal fluid, urine, and other body fluids) for laboratory testing. May perform; phone reception, centrifugation, results inquiry, order entry, pneumatic tube station functions, microbiology plating, chemical handling and recycling, morgue denier, slide file maintenance, waived testing, and etc. following the policies and procedures of the department.
Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Six (6) months experience as a Laboratory Technician in a medical laboratory. CLT(ASCP) accepted in lieu of experience.
