Under limited supervision, performs a variety of patient care and technical duties, including but not limited to, Electrophysiology Studies, Pacemaker/AICD procedures, Radiofrequency Ablations, Cardioversion, Tilt Studies, etc. Conducts various imaging procedures in Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiology to assist physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic interventions; explains procedure and special requirements to patient, adjusts equipment, prepares contrast media, evaluates image quality, etc.; provides advanced technical assistance to other technologists and RN�s, participates in Quality Assurance Program, etc.; cleans and maintains equipment; monitors inventory to ensure appropriate levels are maintained, etc.
Requirements: Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or graduate of a certified and approved 2 year hospital based program. One (1) year experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, Angiography lab or one (1) year special/advanced imaging school. Two (2) years experience in Electrophysiology. Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Certified by the Maryland Board of Physician Quality Assurance. Must have current CPR Heart Saver Plus or Community CPR certification. ACLS Certification. Certified or pursuing certification by North American Society for Pacemaker and Electrophysiology Studies.
