Under moderate supervision, administers therapeutic gases; ventilatory support; and various treatments and procedures such as chest physiotherapy, intubation, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, etc. Provides respiratory assessment, monitors treatment, documents data pertinent to patients care and condition etc.; maintains inventory, equipment, etc. to ensure optimal operating efficiency.
Requirements: Associates Degree in Respiratory Care or graduation from a certified and approved School of Respiratory Care. Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Board of Physician Quality Assurance. Certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Practitioners assigned to the NICU/PICU must complete the respiratory care training program provided by the Respiratory Care Department or have successfully completed the National Board of Respiratory Care specialty examination in neonatal pediatric care. Must have completed CPR Healthcare Provider or CPR for the Professional Rescuer course.
