What is Trauma?
Trauma is any injury caused by a physical force and is often the result of a motor vehicle crash, a fall, gunshots, fires and burns, stabbing or a blunt assault.

Sinai Hospital is now seeing over 1800 trauma patients a year. The majority of cases involve motor vehicle crashes, falls, industrial and recreational mishaps.

Another substantial portion of the trauma treated by the center at Sinai Hospital results from interpersonal violence including stabbings, gunshots, and other assaults.

� 92% of the trauma patients that came  to Sinai last year, arrived by ground ambulance. Increasing numbers are now also transferred from outside facilities to receive tertiary trauma care at Sinai.
