Purpose
Sinai Hospital is planning a two-story vertical expansion above the existing ER-7 to provide more space for patient care functions.
Description/Building Features
Second Floor:
- The second floor will consist of 27,787 square
feet
- The space will be used for the expansion of the
Cardiology department.
- At least half of the existing cardiac
catherization equipment will be moved to the expansion area.
- The new area will consist of 18 standard
recovery bays with glass enclosures that will provide acoustical
privacy. There will be an area in each room for a family member.
- There will also be six recovery bays the size
of an Intensive Care Unit room.
- There will be access to the existing cardiology
floor from the second floor of the expansion
- There will be public access to the new area from the first floor.
Third Floor:
- The third floor is the future location of the
Brain & Spine Institute, a 36-bed all private-room unit dedicated to
treating patients with disorders of the nervous system and
spine
