Infectious Diseases

DESCRIPTION AND GOALS OF COURSE: 

This elective offers medical students an opportunity to evaluate patients on the Infectious Diseases (I.D.) teaching and consultative service under the supervision of the Division's attending staff Drs. Gradon and Mayrer. Outpatients are evaluated by students from time to time in the Infectious Disease Ambulatory Center.

Medical students electing I.D. at Sinai are encouraged to attend weekly Johns Hopkins I.D. conferences. Medical students also have the opportunity to assist in any Hospital based antibiotic utilization review studies, antibiotic trials, or other ongoing clinical projects.

DURATION:  4 weeks 
HOURS OF PARTICIPATION:  Full-time 
NUMBER OF STUDENTS:  1 or 2
