Over 2,900 gynecologic operations for benign diseases are performed
annually at Sinai Hospital. Residents are trained in the full range of medical
and surgical gynecology for all age groups, including diagnosis, medical and
surgical management of urinary stress incontinence, breast disease, and pelvic
floor dysfunction. Generalists from the full-time and voluntary faculty as well
as subspecialists provide a broad exposure to advanced operative laparoscopy and
hysteroscopy, laser therapy, ultrasound, and other relevant procedures and
techniques. The Women's Midlife Health Center combines preventive health
services and education with the diagnosis and treatment of conditions specific
to women in this phase of life. Special attention is provided for the health
needs of elderly and disabled women.
