Supporting the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), the Pediatric Critical Care Transport Program is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to stabilize and transport sick children from the referring facility to Sinai. The team includes a pediatric critical care nurse, respiratory therapist, paramedic and emergency medical technician. The Transport Program provides immediate feedback to the referring hospital by the attending pediatric intensivist at Sinai. Referring pediatricians may remain involved in the child's care if they desire. When no longer critical, patients can be transferred back to the referring hospital.
