As an orthopedic surgeon specializing is sports medicine, Robert Riederman, M.D., draws on personal experience as a basketball player. "I get my greatest satisfaction helping people recover from their injuries and return to their previous level of athletic competition," he says.
Dr. Riederman completed an intensive fellowship program at the internationally renowned Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center. While there, he placed special emphasis on treatment of knee and shoulder disorders. Today, Dr. Riederman continues to stay on the cutting edge of his specialty. His participation in national and international courses and seminars keeps him on top of the rapidly changing treatments of sports injuries.
Dr. Robert Riederman serves as team physician to several local high schools and heads the sports medicine outreach program at the Orthopedic Specialty Center. "It gives me a chance to educate our patients and promote health, recreation and physical conditioning," he says. "I find that very rewarding."
Dr. Riederman received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University and earned his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He has completed a residency in General Surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, a Residency in Orthopedics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and a fellowship with Cincinnati Sports Medicine. Dr. Riederman is a Diplomat and Member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and member of the Annroscopy Association of North America and the American College of Sports Medicine.
