Sinai Hospital of Baltimore announces three new members to its board of directors: Susan Weikers Balaban, Myrna E. Cardin and John Hamilton.

Our three newest members provide the experience, knowledge and diversity needed to continue with Sinai�s substantial progress.�
Susan Weikers Balaban is a current member of the Israel Bonds board of directors and was the first woman ever named to its board in 1988. She became the first woman named national chair of Israel Bonds in 1994. She has also served as a member of the advisory board of the First Women�s Bank of Maryland and as a member of the board of directors of the Bank and Trust Company of Old York Road in Philadelphia. In January 1999, President Bill Clinton appointed her to the United States Holocaust Commission for a five-year term. She and her husband, Dr. Donald Jay Balaban, live in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, and Palm Beach, Florida.
Myrna E. Cardin, wife of Congressman Ben Cardin, is involved in many community organizations and is currently a board member of The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore and a trustee of the University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation. She is vice president of Hillel of Greater Baltimore. Before that, she was the executive director of the Maryland Association of Non-Public Special Education Facilities from 1990-1998 where she advocated necessary services for children with special needs. Mrs. Cardin has also received numerous awards recognizing her leadership abilities.
John Hamilton is currently president and CEO of Advance Bank, which is headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland. He serves on the boards of America�s Community Bankers and Baltimore city�s Finance Board. He is also the immediate past chairman of the President�s Roundtable, an organization representing the interests of the area�s largest African American businesses. Mr. Hamilton has traveled the world extensively.
