The BirthPlace at Sinai is pleased to provide "B'shaa Tova", an individualized labor support program. Throughout time women have helped other women through the childbirth experience. Recent research suggests that the continued presence of a trained labor coach or "doula" reduces Cesarean Section rates and the use of epidural anesthesia, as well as impacting positively on the mother's overall satisfaction with her labor and birth experience. Sinai trained "doulas" work in collaboration with your obstetrician or midwife and the nursing staff to provide individualized nurturing care during labor and birth.
