Under moderate oversight and guidance from the clinical Leader, performs the duties of the Patient Care associate I, and in conjunction with patient assessment performed by licensed professional staff, performs selected advanced procedures, such as IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, endotracheal suctioning, etc. In addition to performing daily assignments, routinely circulates through the unit to monitor patients' status.
Requirements: Requirements include: 6 months recent experience as EMT, CCT, Medical Corpsman or must have successfully completed educational program for EMT, CCT, MC or must have successfully completed core orientation patient care coursework such as fundamentals of nursing of nursing and one semester of adult acute care clinical experience. Two years post high school training or equivalent experience in a position noted below. Must demonstrate good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Must have current certification as certified nursing assistant by Maryland board of nursing. Must have completed CPR Healthcare Provider or CPR for the Professional Rescuer course. Must successfully complete hospital orientation/training program.
